L2 Email Security Engineer – Cisco ESA

Location: Ernākulam

We are looking for an experienced  L2 Email Security Engineer  with hands-on expertise in  Cisco Email Security Appliance (ESA)  or equivalent enterprise email security solutions. The candidate will be responsible for administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, incident resolution, and operational support of email security infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
Provide L2 operational and technical support for enterprise email security infrastructure.
Administer and troubleshoot Cisco Email Security Appliance (ESA) and related email security components.
Monitor email traffic, mail queues, system health, and security events.
Troubleshoot issues related to SMTP, email delivery, mail flow, spam, phishing, malware, and email reputation.
Configure and troubleshoot email security policies, filters, mail policies, and access controls.
Manage allow lists, block lists, sender/recipient policies, content filters, and message filters.
Analyze email headers, SMTP logs, tracking information, and message delivery failures.
Troubleshoot delayed, bounced, rejected, or quarantined emails.
Handle security incidents related to spam, phishing, malicious attachments, and suspicious email activity.
Coordinate with L1, L3, network, security, messaging, and application teams for issue resolution.
Perform configuration changes, policy updates, and other operational activities following change-management procedures.
Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
Prepare incident reports, RCA documentation, and operational reports when required.
Support upgrades, migrations, backups, and configuration changes of email security appliances.
Follow defined SLAs and ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests.
Required Skills
Strong hands-on experience with Cisco ESA / Cisco Secure Email.
Good understanding of SMTP and email communication flow.
Experience troubleshooting email delivery and mail-flow issues.
Good knowledge of SPAM filtering, anti-phishing, malware protection, URL filtering, and content filtering.
Expertise in email security protocols DNS, MX records, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC and threat analysis.
Experience analyzing SMTP logs and email headers.
Good troubleshooting and incident-management skills.
Experience working in an enterprise IT/security operations environment.
Ability to work in shifts and provide operational support, if required.

Equivalent Experience
Candidates with hands-on experience in other enterprise email security platforms may also be considered.

Experience
3 years  or above of relevant experience in Email Security / Messaging Security / Security Operations, with L2-level troubleshooting expertise.
