Production Project Engineer

About The Gig
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Production PMO to oversee project governance, monitor production initiatives, and drive cross-functional alignment between operations, supply chain, quality, and engineering. The role will ensure that production projects are executed on time, within budget, and aligned with business goals, while establishing standardized PMO processes across the production function.
What You'll Do
Project Management & Governance
Define and manage standardized PMO practices across production programs.
Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables for production readiness.
Develop dashboards/reports on capacity, trial runs, ECN status, and SOP readiness for leadership
review.
Change Management (ECR/ECN/Deviation)
Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Engineering Change Notes (ECNs), and
Deviations, ensuring timely approval and implementation.
Track impacts of design or process changes on production schedules, cost, and quality.
Maintain governance of change control documentation and stakeholder communication
Production Trials & Ramp-up (PTR/ETR/LVPT/HVPT)
Plan and monitor PTR (Production Trial Run) and ETR (Engineering Trial Run) activities with
cross-functional teams.
Drive LVPT (Low Volume Production Trial) and HVPT (High Volume Production Trial)
readiness and execution.
Track trial results, capture lessons learned, and implement corrective actions to de-risk SOP.
SOP & Production Readiness
Own the production ramp-up calendar and readiness for SOP (Start of Production).
Ensure alignment between engineering, production, supply chain, and quality for SOP.
Identify risks, bottlenecks, and implement mitigation measures to achieve smooth launch.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Facilitate governance reviews with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and engineering teams.
Align supplier readiness with production trial schedules and SOP targets.
Act as the single point of contact for production project governance.
Process & Compliance
Standardize reporting and documentation of ECR/ECN/Trial Runs/SOP readiness.
Ensure compliance with QMS standards (IATF/ISO) and company processes.
Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned from trials and launches.
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering (MBA preferred).
3+ years' experience in Production Planning, PMO, or Program Management within manufacturing/automotive/e-mobility.
Strong exposure to ECR, ECN, Deviations, Trial Runs (PTR/ETR), LVPT, HVPT, and SOP management.
Proficiency in MS Project, JIRA, or equivalent project management tools.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or TPM preferred.
Strong governance and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Risk identification and proactive mitigation mindset.
Excellent cross-functional coordination and influencing ability.
