We’re Hiring: NPD & Quality Officer
Hill Farm Organics | Kombucha & Fermented Beverages Brewery
Hill Farm Organics is expanding beyond Kombucha, and we’re looking for a science-driven, innovation-obsessed professional to lead the charge.
Role Overview
As the NPD & Quality Officer, you will own new product development and quality systems across our growing portfolio of fermented beverages. This role sits at the intersection of R&D, fermentation science, food safety, and scale-up.
You’ll turn ideas into safe, scalable, shelf-ready products, without killing the soul of fermentation.
Key Responsibilities
New Product Development
Lead development of:
Ginger Ale
Tepache
Tamarindo beverage
Pine Needle Soda
Hard Kombucha
New & seasonal kombucha flavors
Conduct formulation trials, pilot batches, and scale-up
Optimize fermentation, carbonation, sweetness, and alcohol (where applicable)
Perform sensory evaluation and product benchmarking
Support product launches with data, specifications, and validation
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Establish and maintain QA/QC systems (HACCP, GMP)
Oversee microbiological, chemical, and shelf-life testing
Ensure compliance with FSSAI and applicable alcohol regulations (for hard kombucha)
Draft and maintain SOPs, specifications, batch records, and COAs
Lead deviations, investigations, CAPA, and continuous improvement initiatives
Cross-Functional & Documentation
Work closely with Production, Operations, and Marketing
Translate R&D concepts into repeatable production processes
Train staff on quality, hygiene, and process controls
Maintain NPD and quality documentation
What We’re Looking For
Degree in Food Science / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Fermentation Science
Experience in fermented or carbonated beverages. Solid understanding of:
Fermentation biology
Carbonation systems
Microbial safety
Shelf-life and stability
Comfortable with hands-on work in a brewery environment
Curious, structured, and calm under pressure
