Maintenance Shift Supervisor; Weld

Position: Maintenance Shift Supervisor (Weld)
Location: Nirthān

Job Role:

To ensure uninterrupted operation of all welding-related equipment by executing timely preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance, and leading a team of maintenance technicians to meet production targets and safety standards.

Job Responsibilities:

. Monitor and ensure proper functioning of welding robots (e.g., Fanuc, Yaskawa), spot welding machines, and MIG/MAG welding equipment.
. Lead troubleshooting and quick resolution of breakdowns with minimal impact on production.
. Analyze root causes of frequent failures and implement corrective actions.
. Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules for all welding systems.
. Monitor equipment health through predictive tools (e.g., thermography, vibration, current analysis).
. Maintain documentation of all maintenance activities
. Supervise and guide a team of maintenance technicians during shifts.
. Train junior staff on safe maintenance practices and new technologies.
. Coordinate with production and quality teams to prioritize maintenance tasks.
. Monitor spare part consumption, plan for critical spare stocking, and coordinate with the store/purchase team.
. Maintain history cards, breakdown logs, and daily checklists for each machine.
. Ensure compliance with safety standards while performing maintenance.
. Conduct safety audits and participate in hazard identification and risk assessments (HIRA).

Competencies /

Skills:

Functional/Technical:
. Knowledge of resistance welding (spot, seam), arc welding, robotic welding, weld gun maintenance, and transformer systems.
. Familiarity with robotic welding cell setup and backup/restoration procedures.
. Hands-on with PLC/servo systems (Mitsubishi, Siemens preferred) in welding cells.
. Ability to read electrical and pneumatic diagrams.
. Hands-on with PLC/servo systems (Mitsubishi, Siemens preferred) in welding cells.
. Knowledge of SCA sealer system, Graco E-flow pump, Stud welder, SEW and Fanuc Turn table
