SENIOR MOULDING OFFICER - MOLUDING DEPARTMENT

This position is responsible for the direct supervision of the molding plant and all its employees on the shift. The Molding Foreman is responsible for the overall efficiency of plant operation and quality of the parts produced on their shift.

Summary:

Plans, directs, coordinates, evaluates and provides leadership and development/mentoring for salaried and hourly employees in the Molding department.

Supervises and coordinates activities of the team members engaged in the molding of rubber products, applying knowledge of molding machine set-up, operating techniques, and production methods. Using standard processes and continuous improvement, the Supervisor identifies discrepancies in parts and products, documents findings in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring the delivery of world class products. Responsible for managing staffing issues including: assigning daily work, addressing performance issues, and resolving problems.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for the production and quality of products, completing daily reports for production and payroll reporting purposes.
Responsible for maintaining/enforcing safe working conditions, and ensuring that all Environmental Health and Safety and OSHA regulations are met.
Schedules and directs leads, utilities, and mold changers in the Molding Department.
Works with production control to obtain molding requirements.
Monitors production, inventory, and minimizes scrap in the department. Works with the Molding Manager to continually improve the molding process.
Works on maintaining the Methodology of Lean Manufacturing in the department.
Trains all personnel in the department. Ensures that all personnel are trained with the help of trainers and leads.
Reports all department and personnel issues.
Resolves personnel issues in accordance to Company Policy Guidelines.
Troubleshoots and resolves molding processes.
Inspects and updates all set up sheets.
Keeps department running with minimum down time.
Continuously looks for ways to reduce costs in the department.
Maintains department ISO procedures.
Works with the Molding Manager to maintain Preventative Maintenance (PM) program.
Keeps the Molding Department in order through 5S standards.
Schedules and directs mold changers through quick mold change (Quick Die Set Up) methodology.
Continuously improves manufacturing operations through the use of lean enterprise practices and 5S principles throughout manufacturing.
Keeps manufacturing equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions; works with the Molding Manager and maintenance personnel to maintain PM system.
Maintain the efficient use of resources including personnel, machines, materials, and auxiliary equipment.
Enforce all Company policies, rules, and regulations.
Conduct performance appraisals, recommend transfers, promotions, pay increases when appropriate.
Work with Human Resources for all disciplinary actions, employee complaints, or discharges Production/Quality.
Plan production runs based on scheduling demands and assign workloads to employees based on skill sets.
Perform mold, set up, and color changes to meet production demands.
Set molding process parameters to ensure part quality.
Monitor production for accuracy and efficiency and work with quality inspectors to identify defects.
Troubleshoot process, machine, and auxiliary equipment problems to reduce downtime, scrap, and internal rejects at an advanced level.
Ensures accurate reporting of production data including inventory transactions, scrap, and daily production.
Suggest changes to the Plant Manager on ways to improve efficiency, quality, and safety on the shift.

Required Qualifications

B. Tech or Diploma In Mechanical or equivalent qualification.
Minimum 3 years of Experience required in molding department.

Familiar with DISA MACHINE.
