Job Purpose/ Summary

Responsible for supervising and monitoring day-to-day blast furnace operations to ensure safe, stable, and efficient hot metal production. The role involves controlling furnace parameters, coordinating with maintenance and utility teams, monitoring raw material quality, and optimizing process performance to achieve production targets. Job Description
The Engineer for Support BF Operation WML is tasked with overseeing and managing the daily operations of the blast furnace to ensure the production of hot metal is conducted safely, stably, and efficiently. This role requires the individual to control and optimize furnace parameters, ensuring that all operations align with production targets. The engineer will collaborate closely with maintenance and utility teams to ensure seamless operations and address any issues promptly.

Monitoring the quality of raw materials and optimizing process performance are key aspects of this role. The candidate must ensure strict adherence to safety standards and operational discipline while promoting energy efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives. Managing shift operations effectively is crucial to support overall plant productivity. The role also involves preparing detailed reports and supporting management in achieving departmental goals.

Principal Accountabilities
Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Blast Furnace to meet targeted hot metal production levels  Monitor and control furnace parameters including burden charging PCI operations and process stability to maintain optimal performance  Supervise cast house activities stove operations and cooling system performance to ensure smooth operations  Coordinate with maintenance and utility departments to facilitate uninterrupted operations and address any operational issues  Monitor the quality of raw materials fuel consumption and operational efficiency parameters to optimize production processes  Identify process abnormalities and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and prevent production losses  Ensure compliance with safety standards standard operating procedures environmental regulations and operational protocols  Lead and manage shift manpower to maintain discipline productivity and effective team coordination  Prepare and review production reports shift reports and operational MIS data to support decision making processes  Support preventive maintenance shutdown planning and initiatives aimed at improving equipment reliability  Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing productivity and optimizing costs  Maintain comprehensive operational records and assist management in achieving departmental KPIs and plant objectives
