Job Description   Job Purpose
To support the Section Head - Mechanical in effective execution of mechanical shift operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and continuous plant functioning across assigned PF areas. The role focuses on real time supervision, coordination, and execution of mechanical maintenance activities to maintain high equipment availability and process stability during shifts. The position holder is responsible for monitoring plant equipment health, promptly attending breakdowns, and coordinating with operations, electrical & automation teams, contractors, and OEMs to restore equipment in minimum time, thereby improving MTTR and sustaining operational continuity.

The role involves implementing and adhering to preventive, predictive, and condition Based maintenance practices during shifts, including inspections, lubrication checks, vibration observations, thermography feedback, and oil condition awareness, to enhance reliability, improve MTBF, and prevent recurring failures.
The shift PF Mechanical role ensures:
Safe execution of breakdown and corrective maintenance jobs
Compliance with Ultra Tech safety standards, permit to work systems, LOTO, and statutory requirements
Proper deployment and supervision of contractor manpower and resources
Accurate logging of breakdowns, maintenance activities, and material consumption in maintenance systems (SAP/CMMS)

The position holder actively supports shift level RCA/Why Why analysis, temporary countermeasures, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions identified by Day Maintenance teams. The role plays a key part in communicating shift events, abnormalities, safety observations, and improvement opportunities through proper handover and shift reports. Additionally, the role contributes to housekeeping, dust control, spillage elimination, and WCM initiatives, ensuring compliance with 5S standards, AM/PM practices, and Zero Harm objectives.

Job Context:

- Aligarh Cement Harduaganj (A unit of Ultra Tech Cement Limited) is located at Village Kasimpur , Tehsil koil Dt. Aligarh (U. P.). It is a grinding & packing unit with an installed capacity of 4.5 MTPA. This unit was commissioned in May
-09 consisting of Close Circuit Ball Mill with High Efficiency Separator, 2X12 spout Packer Machine. It manufactures Ultratech Cement in various Blends. This unit is one of our most modern establishments of Ultra Tech cement Limited. The basic raw material i.e. clinker received from Vikram Cement, Khor (M.P.) and Aditya Cement, Shambhupura (Rajasthan).
The main product is flyash based, which is being sourced from Thermal power station Aligarh and cement is supplied to mainly in Eastern UP .. The plant has a state of the art technology featuring Expert System of DCS with fully equipped modern laboratory to ensure optimum production and consistent quality product, these are the latest equipment in cement grinding process.

Major Challenges
- 1.Less availability of equipment's for maintenance due to continuous plant operations and high despatches.
2.To ensure optimum availability of Cement mill throughout the year and systematic implementation of maintenance schedule to achieve production targets.
3.To optimise operations to achieve better business results in power consumption, fuel consumption and fly ash consumptions.
