Machining Head

Location: Bārāmati

Job Purpose:

Lead Manufacturing operations in machine shops while maintaining workplace safety and product quality as per regulatory standards and customer requirements and fostering culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement manufacturing strategy for machining operations in line with the objectives of manufacturing organization.
Define key performance indicators (KPIs) related to machining, such as production output, cycle times, OEE, COPQ, Process Capability and equipment utilization. Monitor progress periodically.
Oversee daily machining operations, ensuring production plans are achieved. Conduct daily reviews to troubleshoot and eliminate obstructions to flow bottlenecks.
Evaluate, select and commission machining equipment, tools and technologies to improve productivity, safety, quality and productivity.
Ensure all safety procedures are followed and employees are trained to enable safe workplace. Conduct safety audits to identify and minimize unsafe conditions and behavior.
Establish and implement machining quality control standards, processes and inspection methods to enable error free work.
Manage the department's budget including cost control measures, material yield, consumable and energy consumption.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address operational challenges, resolve issues and ensure timely delivery of machined components.
Build Team in Department by defining priorities, reviewing progress periodically, provide feedback and guidance, train and employees.
Comprehensive knowledge of machining process, methods, tools and materials.
Good understanding of industry regulations, quality standards and safety procedures.
Practical problem-solving and decision-making skills
Should be familiar with conventional as well as CNC/VMC machines, complex drawing reading and cost estimation.
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
