Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Production Manager (Rubber Division) based in Tindivanam. The Production Manager will oversee daily shop-floor operations for rubber mixing, molding, and assembly, ensuring production targets are met with consistent quality and minimal downtime. Responsibilities include planning and scheduling production, allocating manpower and machine resources, and coordinating with maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams.
The role will drive process control, reduction of scrap and rework, implementation of lean manufacturing practices, and adherence to safety and regulatory requirements. The Production Manager will also supervise and develop production teams, monitor performance metrics, support audits and customer visits, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of rubber processing, including mixing, molding, curing, and metal-to-rubber bonding, preferably in an automotive components environment.
Experience in production planning, line balancing, capacity utilization, and achieving daily output and on-time delivery targets.
Proficiency in quality systems (such as ISO/TS/IATF standards), process control, and problem-solving tools for reducing defects, scrap, and variation.
Hands-on experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methods to optimize productivity and efficiency.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, process sheets, and work instructions relevant to rubber and polymer components.
Demonstrated team leadership skills, including shift management, staff training, and performance tracking in a manufacturing setting.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to respond quickly to production issues and customer requirements.
Good communication and coordination skills for working with cross-functional teams such as Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
Familiarity with ERP or production tracking systems for monitoring work orders, inventory, and machine utilization.
