Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Production Supervisor to assist the Plant Manager in overseeing our entire production lifecycle-from pond cultivation to final dispatch. This is a "grounds-down" role; we need someone who is skillful, not afraid to get their hands dirty and work alongside the staff and laborers, ensuring smooth operations across all shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Operations: Manage the end-to-end production process, including harvesting spirulina wet slurry using an automatic harvester, powder processing via spray dryer, and tablet processing. Oversee packaging and final dispatch.
Pond & Nutrient Management: Monitor Pond health and nutrient levels, ensuring timely addition of required nutrients. Take proactive corrective actions to maintain optimal growth conditions.
Equipment Maintenance & Documentation: Ensure routine preventive maintenance, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting of all production equipment. Maintain accurate daily production logs, batch records, and SOP documentation to ensure full traceability for internal reviews and statutory audits.
Inventory & Logistics: Manage inventory of incoming and outgoing materials and stocks. Coordinate with the QC and lab teams to ensure samples are delivered as per schedule.
Team & Shift Management: Manage shift timings and allocate work to staff and laborers. Assist the Plant Manager in overall team management.
Audits & Compliance: Single-handedly manage audits relevant to the food and spirulina industry, ensuring compliance with FSSAI, GMP, and HACCP standards.
Safety, Training & Waste Compliance: Enforce workplace safety protocols and ensure all staff adhere to PPE and safety guidelines. Oversee proper disposal of biological waste and spent media in compliance with environmental regulations. Train new staff and laborers on equipment operation, safety procedures, and production standards.
Cross-functional Coordination: Coordinate with the sales and marketing team by providing necessary information. Pack and send samples to prospective customers as required.
Hands-on Work: Actively participate in production activities alongside the team, not just giving instructions.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
Degree in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Agriculture, Aquaculture, Food Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
3 to 6 years of relevant experience in spirulina/algal cultivation or a similar food processing industry.
Industry Knowledge: Hands-on experience with spray dryers, tablet presses, and familiarity with food safety practices (FSSAI, GMP, HACCP) is highly advantageous.
Skills:
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Must be proficient in process monitoring and documentation.
Other: Must be willing to relocate to Kambanur, Karaikudi. Only skillful, serious, and hardworking individuals need to apply.
Language & Technical

Fluency in Tamil (spoken) is mandatory for effective communication with the workforce; basic proficiency in MS Excel and inventory management software is required for documentation, stock tracking, and dispatch coordination.
Physical & Mobility Requirements: Physically fit and willing to work outdoors in pond conditions and on the factory floor. Must possess a valid two-wheeler driving license and own vehicle.
Quality Assurance/Control Exposure (Added Advantage): Prior experience or working knowledge of QC/QA processes, including in-process quality checks, non-conformance reporting, and familiarity with FSSAI/GMP/HACCP documentation requirements, will be considered a strong added advantage.
Basic Laboratory Testing Awareness (Added Advantage): Familiarity with fundamental lab testing procedures relevant to spirulina production (such as nutrient analysis, microbial testing, and product quality parameters) is a plus.
