JOB DESCRIPTION
Production & Innovation Manager
Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for bakery and confectionery production to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance.
Monitor production processes to reduce wastage, maximize throughput, and achieve planned fill rates and timely dispatches in line with order-delivery timelines.
Oversee workforce planning, training, task allocation, and performance management to ensure a highly skilled and efficient production team.
Ensure strict adherence to recipes, SOPs, and finished goods specifications to consistently deliver high-quality products.
Establish, implement, and enforce strong food safety, hygiene, and quality control systems in accordance with regulatory and internal standards.
Monitor in-process and finished goods quality, ensuring hygiene and quality standards are maintained throughout the production cycle.
Lead internal and external audits, maintain documentation, and ensure full compliance with all regulatory, safety, and quality requirements.
Prepare and publish accurate production data, performance metrics, and reports for management review and decision-making.
Control and optimize recipe and production costs, ensuring expenses remain within defined tolerance limits while maintaining product quality.
Evaluate raw material quality, identify and qualify suitable vendors, and manage the vendor approval and onboarding processes.
Conduct vendor trials, evaluate quality performance, and develop alternative vendor sources to ensure a resilient and cost-effective supply chain.
Lead new product development and R&D initiatives, including product trials, shelf-life improvement, recipe optimization, and process validation.
Optimize recipes through ingredient substitutions and production-aligned adjustments to enhance quality, efficiency, or cost.
Identify production bottlenecks, analyze process gaps, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall operational efficiency.
Work with management to develop new products aligned with strategic goals: conduct performance testing, define scalable production SOPs, assess and recommend required machinery with the operations team, and coordinate product launches including packaging selection.
Conduct regular training sessions to reinforce GMP, hygiene practices, safety protocols, and disciplined work culture.
Lead workforce skill development through structured training programs and capability-building initiatives.
Collaborate closely with the operations team to ensure timely packing, accurate order fulfillment, and optimized delivery costs.
