Job Summary
The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for improving productivity, optimizing manpower utilization, enhancing operational efficiency, reducing costs, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across Home Textile manufacturing operations. The role requires expertise in work study, time study, line balancing, capacity planning, process optimization, and lean manufacturing principles within a home textile manufacturing environment.
The incumbent will work closely with Production, Planning, Quality, Maintenance, HR, and Operations teams to drive productivity enhancement and operational excellence initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Industrial Engineering & Productivity Improvement
Conduct work studies and time-motion studies across manufacturing operations.
Establish Standard Allowed Minutes (SAM) and Standard Minute Values (SMV) for various operations.
Perform method studies to improve productivity and reduce operational waste.
Develop productivity improvement plans and monitor implementation.
Analyze operator performance and efficiency trends.
Line Balancing & Capacity Planning
Perform line balancing for stitching, quilting, processing, and weaving operations.
Analyze bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.
Calculate manpower requirements based on production plans and capacities.
Develop production capacity models and machine utilization plans.
Optimize workflow and layout planning.
Production Efficiency Management
Monitor daily production efficiency and productivity KPIs.
Analyze machine utilization and operator efficiency.
Identify productivity losses and implement corrective actions.
Drive initiatives to improve throughput and reduce cycle times.
Support production teams in achieving operational targets.
Process Improvement & Lean Manufacturing
Implement Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologies, including:
5S
Kaizen
Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
Root Cause Analysis
Waste Elimination
Continuous Improvement Programs
Lead productivity and cost optimization projects.
Drive operational excellence initiatives.
Cost Optimization
Analyze manufacturing costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Optimize manpower deployment and machine utilization.
Reduce non-value-added activities.
Support budgeting and operational cost control initiatives.
Factory Layout & Workflow Design
Develop and optimize production layouts.
Conduct workflow and material flow analysis.
Improve workplace ergonomics and operator movement.
Support capacity expansion and factory restructuring projects.
KPI & Performance Monitoring
Develop and maintain dashboards for:
Production efficiency
Operator productivity
Machine utilization
Capacity utilization
Manpower productivity
Cost reduction initiatives
Present operational performance reports to management.
Training & Development
Train production supervisors and operators on productivity improvement techniques.
Conduct awareness programs on Lean Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering concepts.
Support employee skill development and multi-skilling initiatives.

Educational Qualification
B.E./B.Tech in Textile Technology
B.E./B.Tech in Industrial Engineering
Diploma in Textile Technology with relevant experience
Certification in Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma preferred
