About the positi on:
WOTR is looking for motivated individual as an Agriculture Officer.
Job profile/ Scope of Work
Develop and strengthen systems to address gaps in agriculture interventions at the farm level, including promotion of the System of Crop Intensification (SCI) methods and approaches for improving soil productivity and farm sustainability.
Prepare location-specific Farmer Field School (FFS) curricula and farmer training modules for various agriculture interventions aligned with sustainable and climate-resilient practices.
Design and develop crop-specific Package of Practices (PoP) and crop calendars in line with Climate Resilient Agriculture (CRA) principles and sustainable agriculture practices.
Establish crop demonstrations and showcase Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) for scaling up adoption among farming communities.
Develop sustainable crop management practices and provide technical support for their implementation and field-level adoption.
Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis related to agriculture, livelihoods, climate resilience, and natural resource management interventions.
Develop research tools and methodologies for field investigations, baseline studies, impact assessments, and monitoring activities.
Collaborate with universities, research institutes, government departments, and technical agencies to undertake studies, pilot interventions, and extension activities.
Facilitate field-level implementation and dissemination of research-based technologies and practices from institutions such as ICRISAT, CRIDA, State Agricultural Universities, and Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs).
Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, case studies, research papers, articles, and publications, preferably for peer-reviewed journals and development platforms.
Support proposal development and donor engagement for research and development projects related to climate resilience, carbon capture models, sustainable agriculture, and natural resource management.
Qualifications &
Experience:
Bachelor in Agriculture or Masters in Agriculture or relevant subject
Minimum 4-5 years relevant field experience
Knowledge of Local Language and Hindi preferred.
Experience in development sector would be added advantage
