About The NATS Program

National Apprenticeship Training Scheme is one of the flagship programmes of Government of India for Skilling Indian Youth in Trade disciplines. The National Apprenticeship Training Scheme under the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961 amended in 1973;
Volvo Group offers Graduate, a practical, hands-on On-the-Job-Training (OJT) based skilling opportunities with duration of 1 year.

Logistics International - Transport Operations, India is part of Trucks Technology & Industrial (TTI) Division within Volvo Group. We are a Logistics organization, globally connected to deliver world class logistics solutions. We ensure that transportation is purchased, packaging is made available at our suppliers, material is transported to our production facilities, and vehicles & CE machines are distributed to our customers on time.

We design and optimize the Logistics Supply Chain for the Volvo Group, prepare logistics for new products and drive the Sales & Operations Planning process. We strive for an innovative and diverse workplace, based upon Volvo Group values with high focus on customer success.

Transport Operations India (TO IN)  is a function within  TTI - Logistics International  and responsible for –

Overseas & domestic transportation of material to the Production Facilities of Trucks, Construction Equipment and also Buses & Powertrain production units within Volvo Group India & Joint Venture in India,

Distribution of Vehicles, Construction Equipment & Penta products to domestic & overseas Dealers/ Customers

Managing Product Transit Yards & Cross Docks for Material.

Role Description

Coordination with TTI Logistics approved Liners, Forwarders, Transporters, CHA's, Overseas offices & Customers for lining up Sea/ Air/ Surface Freight movements.
Close co-ordination with Customer (Internal & External) for their day to day requirements.
Monitoring end to end activities (transportation, custom clearance, freight, delivery)
Receipt of pre-arrival notifications from LSP / coordination with LC for delivery slots
Using TMS (Transport Management Systems) like ATLAS/ XTR / A4D etc supporting transport operations
Delivery of commodities and shipments from the port to the customer/consignee's warehouse facility.
Maintaining KPI's – Formalize, Record and Maintain KPI
Obtaining, checking and preparing documentation to meet customs and insurance requirements, packing specifications, and compliance with overseas countries' regulations and fiscal regimes;
Arranging air transport for urgent and high-value freight and managing the risk door to door;
Able to visualize transport & operational risks in advance
Dealing with special arrangements for transporting delicate cargos/ DG/ ODC
Maintaining communication and control through all phases of the journey, including the Management Reports
Proactively work with transportation & shipping teams to identify shipments at risk of not meeting delivery expectations based on mode, service level, miles and equipment type
Follow escalation process for deviation reporting
Participate & contribute to morning meetings, VPS & 5S activities
Monitoring Pre-Carriage, Freight & On
- Carriage activities & cost thru' TMS usuage
Communication to Overseas Volvo plants/ suppliers/ customers for Imports/…
