Accounting Manager

A well-established, growing organization is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee key accounting functions within a multi-entity environment. This position will play an important role in financial reporting, month-end close, accounting operations, and process improvements while providing leadership to a small accounting team. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical accounting foundation, preferably developed through public accounting experience, along with the ability to balance hands-on responsibilities with team leadership.

This opportunity offers a highly flexible hybrid schedule and exposure to a growing organization with ongoing acquisition activity. Responsibilities Oversee month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting across multiple entities. Review and prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting financial schedules. Manage general ledger accounting and ensure compliance with GAAP and established accounting policies. Prepare and review financial statements, account analyses, and management reporting.

Supervise and develop accounting staff, providing guidance, reviewing work, and ensuring accountability for assigned responsibilities. Support accounting activities related to inventory, including physical inventory counts, reconciliations, and related financial reporting. Assist with acquisition-related accounting activities, including financial integration and consolidation of newly acquired entities. Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes.

Support annual audits, including preparation of schedules, documentation, and responses to auditor requests. Evaluate existing accounting procedures and identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls, reporting, and operational efficiency. Assist with accounting system enhancements, integrations, and other process improvement initiatives. Support special projects and additional accounting responsibilities as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. Public accounting experience strongly preferred, ideally combined with corporate accounting experience.

CPA certification highly preferred. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and month-end close. Previous experience supervising, mentoring, or reviewing the work of accounting staff strongly preferred. Experience supporting physical inventory counts, inventory reconciliations, or inventory-related accounting strongly preferred. Solid understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.

Experience with in a multi-entity organization preferred. Exposure to mergers and acquisitions, acquisition accounting, or post-acquisition integration is a plus.

Experience with Net Suite or a comparable ERP system preferred. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
