Staff Accountant On-Site / Indianapolis, IN Position Overview

Join an established , family-owned Indianapolis manufacturer serving global aerospace and power-generation markets. As a Staff Accountant, you will support accurate financial reporting and partner with Finance and operations to turn accounting data into useful business insights.

What You Will Do as a Staff Accountant:

Support month-end close, prepare and post journal entries, and maintain accurate general ledger records.

Reconcile balance sheet and inventory accounts, investigate discrepancies, and maintain supporting schedules.

Prepare financial reports and account analysis; explain significant changes and variances to management.

Support budgeting and forecasting, compare actual results with plans, and assist with cash flow projections.

Analyze inventory obsolescence, job costs, and gross margins to support operational decisions.

Prepare audit documentation and support accurate reporting and established internal controls.

Assist with AP invoice matching and payroll uploads; cross-train and provide backup support for AR and other Finance processes.

What You Bring:

Relevant accounting experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close required.

Manufacturing experience preferred; inventory accounting and cost analysis experience a plus.

Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ERP or accounting software experience preferred.

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines and collaborate across departments.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
