Position Overview: The primary function of this position is to perform technical plan reviews on construction plans for the built environment, including design, specifications, and technical information of commercial and residential construction plans (architectural, structural, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, accessibility, etc.). The role involves documenting deficiencies to ensure compliance with statewide adopted codes and local ordinances.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Review construction plans, technical information, and supporting documents, applying applicable construction codes.
• Communicate code deficiencies clearly through written documentation.
• Manage and prioritize assigned plan review caseloads to meet deadlines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

We seek experienced plan reviewers or on-site fire and building inspectors with:

• At least 10 years of experience as a plan examiner, building inspector, fire inspector, or a combination thereof, with extensive knowledge of construction principles, practices, procedures, and codes.

Or, college training in Architecture, Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Architectural Technology, Construction Management, or Construction Technology.

• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Bluebeam.
• Knowledge of construction principles and statewide adopted fire and building codes.
• Valid certifications from ICC (e.g., Residential Building Inspector, Commercial Building Inspector, Residential Mechanical Inspector) or NCPCCI (various tests).
• Alternatively, candidates can obtain specific certifications within one year of hire.
