Traveling Superintendent
Industry leader in Bridge and Railway Construction are looking to add an experienced
Traveling Superintendent to join their team with an influx of complex projects coming down the pipeline in 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to lead talented construction crews on unique and complex Bridge and Railway projects. Superintendent ensures tasks and responsibilities of work crews are performed with safety, quality, and according to the agreed upon schedule to exceed the client’s expectations, thru extensive planning, communication and team work.
A Superintendent can expect to manage projects with crews between 5-20 people; and / or projects with high-risk components / technical work methods. A Superintendent may at times manage a portion of a large scale project with more than one Superintendent on site.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Foreman
- Construction Crew Members (indirectly)
- Verify daily work objectives are delivered to the crew, primarily by the Foreman.
- Partners with Project Engineers and Project Managers to plan and execute work within budget and specifications.
- Reviews time prepared by foreman to ensure proper pay.
- Completes daily, weekly and monthly paperwork in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensures work is performed per OSHA, FRA and other regulations.
- Oversees proper use and maintenance of equipment and tools on site
- Verifies all near miss, safety infractions, first aid injuries and incidents are reported immediately after person is treated.
Education:
- 10 years experience in Construction, with Bridge / heavy highway or USACE Lock & Dam construction
- Able to understand drawings/specifications
- Knowledgeable of AWS D1.5 welding code
- Knowledgeable in AREMA specifications, DOT specifications, Etc.
- Knowledgeable in OSHA requirements
- Knowledge of concrete, carpentry, steel work and operating.
- Strong understanding of construction plans / drawings
- Knowledge of heavy construction equipment, particularly cranes
- Ability to lead others
- Knowledge of tools and proper care of equipment
- Aptitude to learn computer / tablet skills
- Ability to work from heights, work in outdoor temperature extremes
- Ability to pass Federal Background Check
