Prep Foreman – Libs Paving
Provides leadership and is responsible for Safety, scheduling, workforce planning, coordinating, supervising and assisting with cost control while safely and efficiently operating a skid steer and other equipment used to move materials, excavate, grade, clear debris, and prepare area for asphalt paving while being aware of surroundings at all times, and following safety protocols for customers of Libs Paving Co., Inc.
Responsibilities- Follows all policies and procedures established by Libs Paving Co., Inc. and ensures policies and procedures are adhered to by crew members.
- Follows direction by Libs Paving Management team and Superintendent.
- Directly supervises and coordinates the activities of crew members.
- Should be skilled in site work including road construction, excavation, back filling, compaction, grading, testing, and pipe installation.
- Inspects work site for potential hazards or safety concerns.
- Identifies, verifies and reports any scheduling conflicts, needs or deficiencies with other crews and subcontractors with Superintendent.
- Must be skilled at operating skid steer, excavator, backhoe, bulldozer and grade tractor.
- Safely and efficiently operates equipment to move materials, excavate, grade, and perform other tasks for asphalt paving prep.
- Has complete knowledge of installing and operating attachments to equipment as needed to complete a wide variety of tasks associated with paving jobs.
- Must be able to efficiently and safely secure equipment to trailer for transport to and from job sites.
- Daily completes job reports completely using Pave Day after each job.
- Must be attention detail oriented when operating equipment to be aware of surroundings and the various obstacles that may be encountered.
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to determine work requirements.
- Performs routine maintenance on equipment, such as checking fluid levels and making basic repairs.
- Reports and problems or damage to equipment to Libs Paving maintenance department.
- Must be available for continuing education and training on equipment operations.
- When driving company vehicles follows proper daily checklist and inspection procedures while completing documentation of same as required.
- Takes necessary precautions to ensure job is being done in the safest manner possible. Is mindful of their personal safety as well as safety of team members and customers.
- Effectively communicates with other team members with the ability to listen to other Team members’ ideas, suggestions, and concerns.
- Ensures site safety by installing barricades, as necessary.
- Adheres to all safety rules established in the Libs Paving Safety Program.
- Responsible for keeping truck interiors clean of debris while traveling to and from job sites.
- Maintains a high level of discipline and professionalism as a representative of Libs Paving Co.

- Valid CDL Class A driver’s license preferred.
- Must pass drug test and keep COATS card valid.
- Must be dependable with good to excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Construction industry experience knowledge or training preferred.
- Must be able to regularly lift up to 75lbs.
- Must be able to withstand high noise level environments.
- Must be able to withstand various climate conditions including extreme heat and humidity.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
