Executive Medical Director, Early Clinical Development in Lilly's Immunology team, leading translational strategies for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.
Responsibilities- develop and refine therapeutic hypotheses
- oversee early-phase clinical studies
- integrate translational biomarkers
- contribute to regulatory strategies
- influence portfolio direction through cross-functional collaboration
- MD or DO
- board eligible/certified in Rheumatology, Dermatology, or related specialty
- 3–5+ years pharma/biotech experience in early clinical development
- strong background in immunology, translational medicine, and clinical trial design
- PhD in Immunology or related field
- proven leadership in early-phase trials
- expertise with biologics and novel immunomodulatory approaches
- experience with regulatory interactions
- track record of scientific publications
- autoimmune/inflammatory indications
- early clinical phase (FIH to proof-of-concept)
- biomarker strategies
- global regulatory engagement
- influence in immunology innovation
Boston, San Diego, San Francisco, or Indianapolis, with 25-40% travel.
Reports toHead of Early Clinical Development, Immunology Discovery.
CollaborationExtensive matrix across discovery, translational medicine, pharmacology, regulatory, and business development teams.
Work setupFull-time role with significant leadership and strategic influence in a rapidly expanding Lilly Immunology organization.
