Visiting Associate Professor of Law or Visiting Professor of Law
Notre Dame Law School seeks applicants for the position of Visiting Associate Professor of Law or Visiting Professor of Law. The appointment will commence in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027. We are interested in candidates currently holding a tenured or tenure‑track rank at another institution. The School welcomes applicants in any subject area, with particular interest in teaching courses in Trusts and Estates, Professional Responsibility, Intellectual Property, Environmental Law, and the first‑year curriculum.
Qualifications- Excellent academic and professional background.
- Tenured or tenure‑track rank at another institution.
- Additional teaching experience in the areas listed above preferred.
- Diversity of thought and background is valued.
Applicants should submit a CV, a list of at least three references, an academic writing sample, and teaching evaluations. The cover letter must include:
- Basis for interest in a visiting position.
- Interest in studying at a Catholic institution such as Notre Dame.
- Semester(s) of availability.
- Preferred courses to teach—two courses for a one‑semester visit or three courses for a two‑semester visit—and any other teaching interests.
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
