Overview
Adjunct Faculty - Computer Information Technology. Ivy Tech Community College is hiring an adjunct faculty member to teach Computer Information Technology.
Location:
Indianapolis. Job Type: Part-time. Classification:
Adjunct faculty. Salary Range: $48.67 per contact hour.
Reports To:
Department/Program Chair.
- Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
- Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
- Supplement and adapt lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials. Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
- Engage with students proactively in meaningful and productive ways that impact learning and student experience at Ivy Tech.
- Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on online learners.
- Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner in line with College policies and expectations.
- Maintain a safe, quality online educational environment.
- Promote an environment reflecting the broad backgrounds of students and employees where every individual feels respected and valued.
A qualified faculty member in computer information systems is one who meets at least one of the following:
- Earned master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in computer information systems, management information systems, information technology, computer science, or a related field appropriate to the course; OR
- Related or out-of-field master’s degree with 18 semester hours (or equivalent) in a computer, business, mathematics, or engineering-related field beyond introductory level; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, engineering, or a business/computer-related field with documentation in two or more areas such as professional certification, in-field experience, teaching excellence, research/publication, or additional coursework equivalent to 18 semester hours.
- Two years of in-field professional experience with Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure
- Working knowledge of Linux operating system
- Current CompTIA A+, Net+, or Sec+ certification
- Extensive knowledge of virtualization
