Position SummaryHead Start has an opening for a full‑time Teacher, working 35 hours per week. Responsibilities include collaborating with an Assistant Teacher to prepare and implement lesson plans for preschool children ages 3‑5, completing required developmental, behavioral, and sensory screenings, ensuring lesson plans and teaching strategies are individualized for each child (including those with IEPs), utilizing curriculum and computer software accurately, maintaining child records and documentation, participating in recruitment activities for enrollment, following all health and safety standards, and providing active supervision of all children at all times.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with an Assistant Teacher to prepare and implement lesson plans for ages 3‑5.
- Complete developmental, behavioral, and sensory screenings.
- Individualize lesson plans and teaching strategies for each child, including those with IEPs.
- Use curriculum and computer software accurately.
- Maintain child records and documentation.
- Participate in recruitment activities for enrollment.
- Follow health and safety standards and provide active supervision at all times.
- Graduate from an accredited college or university with at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a correlated discipline (preferred). An associate degree in a related field with knowledge of child development and experience in teaching preschool children will be considered.
- Must meet Head Start and Indiana Child Care Licensing Regulations, including Head Start Standards of Conduct, federal and state criminal history requirements, sex offender registry checks, drug screen, physical exam, and complete an annual T.B. test.
