Childcare Attendant (part-time) – Excel Center Meadows

Location:

Indianapolis Public Schools, Indiana

Compensation: $13–$15 per hour, $500 signing bonus after 90 days.

Job Overview

Provide safe, caring, and engaging childcare services for students aged up to 12 at the Young Learners Childcare Center (YLCC). The center supports students during school hours or in class.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate hands‑on interactive learning experiences with students.
  • Assist with student registration and maintain accurate files.
  • Serve snacks and promote healthy habits.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding services, enrollment, scheduling, and special events.
  • Aid in setting and tracking short‑ and long‑term goals for the center.
  • Contribute ideas for curriculum development and program activities.
  • Participate in regular team meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by office management or school leadership.
Required Competencies
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Customer‑focused with empathy toward students and parents.
  • Adaptability to changing work tasks or environments.
  • Teamwork and collaboration.
  • Conflict resolution and problem‑solving.
  • Technical knowledge of G Suite and Microsoft Office.
Preferred Competencies
  • Continuing education in child development or early childhood education.
  • Child/infant CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience in a childcare setting.
  • Safety awareness and adherence to protocols.
Other Requirements
  • Physical work: ability to sit, stand and walk for >8 hrs, lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Minimum age 18.
  • Pass a pre‑employment background check.
