The Student Pastor is responsible for leading and developing all aspects of Student Ministry at Valley Mills Christian Church. This role works directly with the Lead Pastor in developing a plan to implement age-appropriate strategies to share the love of Jesus while maintaining fun, safe, and engaging environments.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive ministry strategy for Student Ministry
• Collaborate with the Children’s Ministry to implement cohesive ministry strategy
• Design and lead engaging weekly ministry experiences for students at VMCC, along with annual and special events
• Lead Student Ministry volunteers by casting vision, providing developmental support and giving feedback
• Recruit, train, and empower volunteers, providing pastoral care when necessary
• Recruit, train, and empower students to serve at Valley Mills
• Oversee the development/maintenance of curriculum plan for all ages
• Develop and manage the Student Ministry budget
• Develop student and parent relationships to support, encourage, and provide pastoral care when needed
• Develop and maintain an effective communication strategy for parents
• Provide relevant resources for parents, connecting them directly with the weekend material as well as season of life when possible
• Participate in weekly meetings with the Lead Pastor to provide updates and discuss upcoming events
• Be proactive on technical maintenance of all equipment

• Bachelor’s degree:
  Bible classes required, ministry major preferred
• Degree from a Restoration Movement College/University preferred
• Two years previous ministry experience

• Solid understanding of Scripture as our final authority
• Faithful in weekend worship
• Hunger for God, love for His church, and a heart for the lost
• Practice Christian stewardship through giving of tithes and offerings
• Willingness to assist and help outside of your ministry area as needed
• Maintain consistent office hours
