Associate or Full Professor in IT, Analytics, and Operations with a research focus in Sustainability

The IT, Analytics, and Operations (ITAO) Department at the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business, in collaboration with the Just Transformations to Sustainability Initiative (JTS Initiative), announces a tenured associate or full‑professor position. The role will help build and strengthen research at the intersection of business, sustainability and technology.

Tenured Associate Professor or Tenured Full Professor (depending on qualifications and impact).

• Conduct impactful scholarship in sustainability‑relevant business applications in operations management, information systems, analytics, or related fields. Researchers should demonstrate publication success in premier outlets and a strong pipeline of innovative research.

• Teach graduate and undergraduate courses, with a focus on sustainability in business applications in operations management, IT/IS, or analytics. The appointment carries a 9‑credit‑hour teaching load per year.

• Engage in service to the department, college, university, and professional community, including committees, outreach, and interdisciplinary collaborations.

• Secure external funding and support for research activities; salaries and research budgets are highly competitive and include generous summer support based on productivity.

• Ph.D. in Operations Management, Information Systems, Statistics, Computer Science, Computational Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Strong record of publication in premier venues and/or a proven potential for impactful scholarship.
• Research that complements or extends the interests of existing faculty, especially in boundary‑spanning areas such as sustainability, business, analytics, operational research, computational social science, machine learning, network science, or human‑centered AI.
• Demonstrated success in teaching and an interest in courses related to sustainability in business applications.
