• Reports to VCP Middle School Principal.
• Use the state standards and curriculum to create rigorous, objective-driven, arts-infused lessons aligned with curriculum maps.
• Differentiate for individual students based on their unique learning needs
• Develop standards-aligned, measurable, ambitious big goals that will increase student opportunities for achievement; assess and track performance against these goals.
• Implement classroom procedures, systems, and routines that provide structure for students and maximize instructional time.
• Use data to reflect on effectiveness of lessons and student achievement progress in order to improve instruction and personal practice.
• Present academic content through a variety of instructional strategies to reach all learners; including the use of arts-infusion: songs, visual arts, presentations and drama.
• Encourage parent and community involvement, obtain information for parents when requested, conduct home visits, and promptly return phone calls and answer emails.
• Ability and willingness to work collaboratively; maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships.
• Use feedback from the Principal and CAO to update the Individual Professional Development Plan.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Bachelor’s degree
• Valid Teacher License (or interest in a licensure program)
• Competency in using technology in the classroom setting
• Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
• Strong desire to work within an innovative, urban educational program
