We are seeking an Instructional Design and Development Consultant (Contractor) to design and develop accessible, engaging learning experiences for team members across IU Health. This role focuses on transforming content into high‑quality eLearning, videos, microlearning, and curated resources that elevate team member capability and support systemwide development initiatives. Senior Instructional Designers will provide strategy and oversight; this role delivers development and execution.
WorkSchedule & Logistics
40 hours/week (estimated based on projects)
Monday–Friday and typical business hours is ideal
Hybrid option for individuals located in the Indianapolis area
Remote option available for candidates outside the Indianapolis area
Reports to IU Health Team Member Development contact
Contract scope is up to six months (based on projects)
Contract start is immediate, targeting mid-January
Create high‑impact eLearning modules, videos, and microlearning using tools such as Synthesia, Rise, and PowerPoint.
Convert existing artifacts (PowerPoint decks, job aids, workflows) into polished, learner‑ready digital formats.
Ensure all deliverables meet accessibility, visual, and instructional design standards.
Collaborate with Senior Instructional Designers on design direction, sequencing, and quality expectations.
Work from defined intake requests through sprint‑based development cycles to deliver projects on time.
Manage individual projects and proactively communicate progress, barriers, and needs.
Maintain organized project files and version control in SharePoint and other designated repositories.
Support the build of the Career Development Resource Center in SharePoint, including organizing and curating materials aligned by career stage.
Contribute to the development and deployment of “Navigating Your Career Path,” a four‑module persona-based learning experience.
Support additional team member development learning initiatives identified by the team.

Build and publish curated SharePoint career development resources.
Complete development on the “Navigating Your Career Path” 4‑module persona-based experience.
Deliver additional prioritized instructional design work according to team member development strategy.
Experience developing eLearning, video‑based learning, and microlearning with tools such as:
Synthesia, Articulate Rise, and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of Share Point (uploading content, navigation, linking, tagging, file organization).
Experience as an admin in Linked In Learning is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain strong organization, and deliver work in sprint‑based cycles and feedback loops.
Ability to translate raw content into professional learning deliverables.
Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating with SMEs, peers, and leadership.
