Job Title: Long-Term Substitute Elementary Teacher
Job Location: Rockport Elementary
Duration: February 2026 - May 2026
Reports to: Principal
Position OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and motivated Long-Term Substitute Elementary Teacher to join our school community for a 14.5 week assignment. This role will involve delivering quality instruction to students in 4th grade and maintaining an effective classroom environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for teaching, creativity, and the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and implement engaging lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum for students.
- Maintain classroom discipline and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Adapt instructional materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and school staff to provide a cohesive learning experience.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through both formal and informal assessments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on student attendance, grades, and behavioral observations.
- Provide support and guidance to students in both academic and social-emotional development.
- Substitute for the regular teacher in all classroom responsibilities, including meetings, duty assignments, and school events.
- Uphold school policies and procedures at all times.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (required).
- Valid teaching certification in Indiana (or ability to obtain if required).
- Previous teaching experience in elementary education is preferred.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of diverse learners.
