Position Title: School Social Worker (Intermediate/Middle School)

Utilize student, school, and community data to plan, identify, and implement evidence-based, culturally competent, and measurable social work program goals, small group goals, and individual student goals.

Demonstrate knowledge of laws, rules, and policies impacting students, families, and the school community, creating protections and/or eliminating barriers to successful student outcomes.

Provide assessment and intervention services at various levels, including school-wide prevention, targeted classroom/small group, and individual behavioral/mental health levels to address issues that prevent learning readiness.

Develop and maintain a deep working knowledge of Warren’s virtual learning programs.

Collaborate with school professionals, parents, and community leaders in a culturally responsive manner to support an optimal learning environment.

Serve as a member of educational multidisciplinary teams, with responsibilities including preparing social and developmental histories, conducting functional behavioral assessments, and implementing positive behavioral interventions.

Provide brief individual and group counseling to students and families facing personal or developmental challenges.

Consult with school staff and parents to develop strategies for helping students cope with personal and social concerns.

Access and link community resources to students, families, and the school based on identified needs.

Advocate for student success and engage families and the school community in student achievement, including home and/or agency visits.

Other duties as assigned.

• Master's degree (MSW) in Social Work.
• Indiana School Service Personnel license: LSW or LCSW, or School Social Worker license.
• Prior experience as a school social worker preferred.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job, including physical and sensory requirements.

Involves talking, listening, interacting with students and families, and physical movement within the school environment. Must have effective communication skills and the ability to read, analyze, interpret data, and write reports.

Tasks are performed without significant exposure to adverse environmental conditions.

Performance will be evaluated according to the Board’s policy on Evaluations of Professional Personnel.
