Position: SNAP Employment and Training Coach
Location: Indianapolis

This position is based out of the Indianapolis area and the general range is $21-$25/hr. and includes full benefits (below):

The SNAP Employment and Training (E&T) Coach supports Goodwill's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education and Training initiative, helping participants build skills, access resources, and achieve long‑term employment goals that lead to economic self‑sufficiency. The role assists in implementing and maintaining program activities, ensuring compliance with Indiana's SNAP E&T policies, and tracking participant outcomes. The Coach works directly with program participants, internal teams, and community partners to coordinate services and monitor progress.

This position reports to the Mission Projects Manager and collaborates closely with other mission services staff to braid funding, utilize resources, and ensure accurate reporting.

Example Duties and Activities
  • Implements and supports all components of Goodwill's SNAP E&T program, including conducting in-person community outreach, participant recruitment, enrollment, training, work experience, and retention activities.
  • Assesses participants' strengths, barriers, and goals to connect them to appropriate employment, education, and supportive services.
  • Provides one‑on‑one coaching and guidance to help participants set and achieve short‑and long‑term career goals.
  • Facilitates or coordinates job readiness training sessions, resume workshops, and other employment preparation activities.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation of participant progress, services provided, and outcomes within required databases and reporting systems.
  • Collaborates with internal staff and community partners to align services and share best practices to improve participant outcomes.
  • Participates in team meetings to review program performance, discuss challenges, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Keeps current with local labor market trends to inform coaching and employment support activities.
  • Assists with compiling and submitting reports and data as required by funding partners and organizational leadership.
Required Competencies

  • Project Management (Grants) - Knowledgeable of the steps involved in effective proposal writing and submission of high‑quality applications including awareness of private, public, governmental, and corporate foundation models. Adept at research, strategy, and implementation of state and federally‑funded grant programs. Manages steps necessary to retain granted awards. Demonstrates leadership skills, especially around communication/innovative solutions to problems, concerns, issues, and roadblocks.
  • Building Collaborative Relationships - Develops, maintains, and strengthens partnerships with others inside or outside the organization who can provide information, assistance, and support.
  • Organizational Aptitude - Plans and attends to details and pursues quality in accomplishing multiple tasks in an organized and timely fashion. Exhibits careful attention to detail and follow‑through with a focus on managing deadlines. Has a passion for accuracy.
  • Technical Knowledge - Has solid knowledge of G Suite, MS Office, databases, and the internet. Prior Case worthy experience is an additional plus.
  • Autonomy - Takes initiative without waiting to be directed, does what is asked, and works until the job is completed. Takes ownership of mistakes and learns from them rather than makes excuses.
  • Information Monitoring/Reporting - Collects and reviews information to manage or improve processes and/or activities. Completes all assigned reports. Reads, interprets, and follows financial reports to be able to communicate information to others and translate data to other communications.
Other Requirements
  • Ability to occasionally work a flexible schedule beyond normal business hours.
  • Is willing to travel to participants' homes, workplaces, community centers, and other venues at times that are convenient to individuals being served.
