Overview

BD Electrical & Solar is a leading provider of electrical and solar installation services in the Greater Boston area. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Solar Installer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in solar panel installation, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to promoting renewable energy.

• Install solar panel systems on rooftops and other structures for residential, commercial, and industrial clients.
• Perform site assessments to determine the optimal placement of solar panels.
• Assemble, mount, and secure solar modules and arrays according to specifications and safety guidelines.
• Connect solar panels to the electrical system, including wiring, grounding, and testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to solar panel installation and operation.
• Maintain and service installed solar systems as required.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes and standards.
• Work collaboratively with team members, including electricians, project managers, and other installers.
• Educate clients on system operation and maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a solar installer or in a similar role.
• Familiarity with electrical and solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physical stamina and the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• Certification in solar energy systems (e.g., NABCEP certification).
• Experience with solar permitting and inspection processes.
• Basic knowledge of electrical wiring and systems.
