This role blends mechanical design, automation thinking, and hands‑on fabrication. You’ll work closely with machinists, fabricators, and production teams, designing and building the fixtures and tools that modernize our legacy processes and unlock new levels of consistency and throughput. Your work doesn’t just improve the line, it directly supports the people who depend on these tools to build world class products.

• Designing automation fixtures, tooling, and mechanical assemblies in Solid Works
• Creating detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturable drawings
• Leveraging 3D printing to develop and refine complex fixture concepts
• Partnering with machining, fabrication, and production teams to ensure practical, cost effective solutions
• Participating in hands on fabrication, assembly, and testing of fixtures and automation components
• Leading small to mid size engineering projects from concept through implementation
• Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase repeatability

Your work will modernize key processes, improve day to day operations for our production teams, and strengthen the reliability, quality, and efficiency of how POLYWOOD products are built. The fixtures and tools you create will influence thousands of products every day.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
• 2 to 5 years of mechanical design or automation fixture experience
• Proficiency with Solid Works
• Experience with Mastercam or similar CAD/CAM software
• Hands on experience with CNC mills, CNC routers, and 3D printing
• Strong mechanical design fundamentals and understanding of manufacturing processes
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills

• Experience designing fixtures in a high volume manufacturing environment
• Exposure to robotics, sensors, or automation hardware
• Experience supporting continuous improvement or lean initiatives
