Position OverviewThe Production Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness across production operations for our manufacturing client. This role focuses on process design and improvement

, and project management to ensure successful implementation of new equipment, process changes, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical engineering background, hands‑on manufacturing experience, and the ability to lead cross‑functional projects from concept through execution.
- Design, develop, and refine manufacturing processes to improve throughput, reliability, and quality.
- Analyze current production methods and identify opportunities to reduce waste, cycle time, and cost.
- Implement lean manufacturing and root‑cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Why, FMEA, Value Stream Mapping).
- Develop and modify mechanical systems, tooling, fixtures, and equipment used in manufacturing operations.
- Specify requirements for new machinery and collaborate with vendors during design, fabrication, and commissioning.
- Troubleshoot mechanical systems to resolve performance issues or equipment downtime.
- Lead engineering and continuous improvement projects, ensuring scope, timelines, and budgets are met.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams including maintenance, quality, production, and external suppliers.
- Prepare project documentation such as schedules, risk assessments, capital expenditure requests, and progress reports.
- Provide technical support to production staff to improve process stability and resolve issues.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Train operators and maintenance technicians on new equipment or processes.
- Ensure processes comply with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support safety initiatives and implement engineering solutions to mitigate hazards.
- Participate in internal and external audits as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in production or manufacturing engineering roles.
- Proven experience in process design and mechanical systems within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated project management experience (formal certification is a plus).
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, equipment design principles, and manufacturing technologies.
- Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD) for mechanical drawings and layouts.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with PLC‑controlled equipment and automation is a plus.
