Position OverviewUtilizing powder metallurgy expertise, the role focuses on continuous improvement of raw materials and processes. Job duties include material analysis and testing, troubleshooting, monitoring process performance, ensuring quality control, and creating and maintaining process‑related documentation.
Responsibilities- Determine causes of product failure and develop methods of overcoming such failures, including internal nonconformances and customer returns.
- Act as a technical resource to the Furnace, Press, and Powder Preparation Departments.
- Keep up to date with metallurgical investigative techniques and processes.
- Maintain metallurgical lab equipment and supplies.
- Provide technical support to the Quality department with evaluations of industry test standards and equipment.
- Evaluate and recommend outside processors related to NDT and material enhancements.
- Liaise with suppliers and customers to provide technical advice on the suitability of materials.
- Maintain memberships with industry associations (ASTM, ASM, MPIF, etc.).
- Assist with cost estimates as needed, including the build of new part files.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Material Science Engineering or related field.
- 3 years’ experience in a powder metallurgy manufacturing environment.
- Related coursework in powder materials.
- Internship in a manufacturing environment.
