Position SummaryThe Production Process Engineer will play a critical role in bridging R&D and manufacturing. This position is responsible for scaling processes from lab and pilot plant to full production, optimizing existing manufacturing operations, and driving continuous improvements in quality, yield, energy, and cost efficiency. The engineer will also provide troubleshooting support, lead small-scale capital projects, train operations staff, and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental standards.
Responsibilities- Scale up new processes from R&D to production equipment.
- Drive process optimizations to improve efficiency, yields, and product quality.
- Troubleshoot process issues and apply root cause analysis.
- Lead small to medium capital projects (design, estimate, install).
- Train and mentor technicians/operators on processes and safety.
- Support startups and process modifications, including documentation and SOPs.
- Monitor inventories, yields, and process control systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety, PSM, and environmental standards.
- Provide technical leadership in separations, distillation, reaction kinetics, and process modeling.
- BS or higher in Chemical Engineering.
- 3–10 years process/production engineering in chemical manufacturing.
- Strong experience with distillation, separation techniques, and reaction chemistry.
- Scale-up experience (lab → pilot → commercial).
- Familiarity with DCS systems (Delta
V, APACS) and process modeling tools (CHEMCAD, Aspen, etc.). - Exposure to ISO, cGMP, or API quality systems a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to mentor.
- Strong documentation, communication, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
