TITLE:
Quality Engineer

Comp: Up to $110,00/yr

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a Quality Engineer direct hire position in Indianapolis, IN

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing and quality assurance processes.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives by analyzing workflows, identifying process gaps, and driving corrective actions.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and oversee the creation and execution of corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA) for quality issues.
• Partner closely with production teams to ensure products meet customer specifications and comply with industry standards in a custom heavy fabrication environment.
• Plan and conduct internal quality audits to ensure regulatory and procedural compliance.
• Define, track, and report key quality metrics (KPIs) to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of inspection and testing protocols for raw materials, in-process work, and finished products.
• Manage tool and equipment calibration programs to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborate with design, production, and supply chain teams to embed quality assurance throughout the production lifecycle.
• Provide coaching and training to staff on quality standards, continuous improvement methods, and root cause problem-solving.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for client and supplier quality concerns, leading issue resolution and audit preparation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Welding Inspection background
• 5+ YOE in a Quality Engineer role
• Experience with SOP writing/implementation
• Understanding of blueprints, welding, GD&T, and overall quality systems
• Understanding of heavy industrial manufacturing and machining

TERMS: This is a direct hire position that pays up to $110,000/yr. This company does have great benefits including 401K match, health, dental, and vision insurance.
