Senior Safety Engineer I
Mortenson is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer I to implement Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites and ensure a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors.
Responsibilities- Implement and administer site safety programs, including site-specific safety activities and training programs.
- Document and track safety violations, conduct safety audits, and analyze loss control data.
- Lead OSHA reporting, monitor subcontractor activities, and review safety submittals.
- Record, monitor, and analyze safety, injury, and hazard statistics.
- Provide safety-related information, evaluate industrial hygiene concerns, and maintain knowledge of safety standards.
- Serve as a safety resource, attend safety meetings, and assist with major incident analysis.
- Collaborate with client safety personnel, union representatives, and insurance risk engineers.
- Ensure maintenance and inspection of safety equipment and build relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
- Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent.
- OR high school diploma with CHST Certification, OSHA 500, and a minimum of 10 years construction experience leading crews and planning work, including at least six years as a dedicated construction safety professional responsible for managing project safety programs, conducting hazard analyses, developing controls, and conducting safety training.
- Minimum of four years of construction safety experience.
- Current valid driver's license.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant safety software programs.
- Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills.
- Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies effectively.
- Willingness to travel up to 100%.

The base pay range for this role is $87,000 - $117,000. (Actual range is higher for Denver, CO; Chicago, IL; Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; and Washington, D.C.)
Base pay is positioned within the range based on experience, internal equity, and considers an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
