• Study requirements and confer with project stakeholders to satisfy design‑related challenges
• Create design concepts utilizing preliminary sketches & layouts
• Create detail drawings using CAD software (Solid Works & Draft Sight)
• Engage in design confirmation activities, including simulations, FEA & animations
• Modify designs to improve performance
• Select purchased components for incorporation into designs
• Create technical documentation for equipment operation, as required for instruction manuals
• Redline & revise drawings
• Create sequence of events and powered elements charts
• Engage in debug and development activities
• Work within quality system parameters as required
• Communicate with team members and managers to receive instructions and coordinate activities
• Utilize ERP system (Epicor)
• Assist junior or mid‑level designers in their development of engineering skills while partnering on projects
• Assume a lead designer role on projects, coordinating and leading multiple designers simultaneously
• Engage in continuous improvement activities

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and supporting experience
• Vocational education and supporting experience
• Completion of apprenticeship in engineering and manufacturing environment
• Hands‑on experience in manufacturing
