Position: Engineering Techician with Security Clearance

Overview ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (F):
Bowhead seeks a Engineering Technician to join our team in supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division. The Engineering Technician indepedntly plans and accomplishes complete projects or studies of a broad scope of complexity and serves as an expert in a narrow aspect of a particular field of engineering. Responsibilities Essential functions will include:
* Prepares designs and specifications for various complex equipment or systems (e.g., heating system in an office building or new electronic componets such as solid state devices for instrumentation equipment).
* Plans approach to solve design problems; conceives and recommends new design techniques.
* Resolves design problems with contract personnel and assures compatibility of design with other parts of the system.
* Designs and coordinates test set-ups and experiments to prove or disprove the feasibility of preliminary design.
* Uses untried and untested measurement techniques and improves the performance of the equipment. May advise equipment users on redesign to solve unique operational deficiencies.
* Plans approach and conducts various experiments to develop equipment or systems characterized by difficult performance requirements because of conflicting attributes such as versatility, size, and ease of operation.
* Arranges for fabrication of pilot models and determines test procedures and design of special test equipment.
* Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in electronics with a minimum of ten (10) to ten (15) fifteen years of relevant experience is required at a minimum
* Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point  
* Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
* Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
* Prior experience at NSWC Crane highly preferred Physical Demands:
* Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
* Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
* Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to obtain a clearance at a Secret level, however candidates with an active Secret level clearance are highly encouraged to apply. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location. #LI-KM1
