- Researches and collects raw data, organizes, analyzes and provides review of the data for use in projects and for further analysis.
- Performs project analysis using technical guidance and software.
- Assists project team members with various support tasks such as development of maps, exhibits, presentation materials, and reporting.
- Conducts research on issues, policies, and concepts pertaining to planning. Assists in the development of conceptual planning alternatives for urban and transportation planning projects.
- Performs tasks related to the preparation and production of plans, studies, reports, and environmental documents for transportation and infrastructure projects.
- Assists in stakeholder and public participation process.
- Maintains records, collections and files related to specific projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Engineering, or related field
- Assists with researching and writing all or sections of environmental documents, including Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, and Environmental Impact Statements.
- Works in GIS to prepare mapping, graphics, and determine impacts.
- Prepares Red Flag Investigations, early coordination letters, and other supporting documents
- Coordinating with clients, agencies, and other stakeholders with respect to potential environmental impacts of proposed projects.
- Assists with preparing permit applications, such as Section 404/401, IDNR Construction in a Floodway, and IDEM Construction Stormwater General Permits.
- Assists senior scientists with conducting waters investigations, including wetland delineations, and preparing Waters of the U.S./State Reports.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology or related field
- Experience with ArcGIS, Microsoft Office, and Adobe
- Experience with INDOT
