Job Summary The Environmental Engineering Manager will provide leadership and expertise to drive best in class performance in Environmental at Anchor Glass. The successful candidate will partner with corporate and facility leadership to establish a strategy and advance a culture of environmental excellence throughout the company and facilities. The Environmental Engineering Manager leads the environmental function in creating, implementing and monitoring environmental strategies to promote sustainable development.

The successful candidate will also carry out environmental audits and assessments, identifying and resolving problems and ensuring necessary changes are implemented to ensure permit, legal, and regulatory compliance.

MAIN

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and implement environmental policies and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations

Instruct plant EHS managers to insure consistent application of environmental policies and procedures

Conduct audits and risk assessments to identify environmental hazards and recommend solutions for minimizing or eliminating risks

Prepare and submit environmental reports required by regulatory agencies

Monitor compliance with environmental regulations through review of internal documents and on-site inspections

Investigate complaints alleging violations of environmental regulations and take appropriate corrective action

Educate employees on environmental regulations and best practices for minimizing waste and reducing pollution

Work with other departments to develop and implement processes and procedures that minimize the impact of company operations on the environment

Manage the development and implementation of environmental management systems

Oversee the disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with regulations

Negotiate with regulatory agencies on behalf of the company

Serve as the company liaison with environmental interest groups

Stay up-to-date on developments in environmental science and technology

Advise SLT on recommendations for optimal environmental management

Partner with engineering services manager to insure proper preventive maintenance is being conducted on equipment that contributes to environmental footprint

Establish and maintain company wide recycling system

Partner with stakeholders to achieve Eco Vadis Gold status

Insure the safe and proper storage of hazardous waste abiding by regulatory requirements EMPLOYEE
