DescriptionMarkey’s is seeking an Account Manager to join our team based at our Indianapolis Headquarters. The Account Manager is responsible for providing audiovisual consultation services to established and potential customers over the phone, online, and in person at Markey’s Headquarters Office. Primary focus will be on customer account management and development for medium to large-sized events and projects. Position may include occasional travel as needed.
This is a full-time, salaried (exempt) position. Typical daytime hours, Monday – Friday. Position is based at Markey's Headquarters Office near downtown Indianapolis.
Position Responsibilities- Discuss with customer their audiovisual needs and the purpose of the event, meeting, or presentation to gain a proper understanding of their goals and objectives.
- Provide consultation and suggestions on the best possible applications of audiovisual equipment based on customers’ needs and budgets.
- Prepare quotes, track equipment and prepare/submit billing.
- Confer with other Consultants, Project Managers and Technicians for suggestions and ideas to determine appropriate audiovisual solutions for the customer when necessary.
- Arrange and actively participate in planning meetings and site inspections for select events.
- Provide technicians with detailed information regarding location logistics, equipment, staging, and customer contact information.
- Coordinate logistics (equipment, transportation, cross rentals) for select events.
- Act as a single point of reference for clients throughout planning process.
- Collaborate with Markey’s staff on event production to continually enhance overall quality of services offered.
- Provide phone support for basic technical questions/problems.
- Travel, as needed and requested, to support select off site events.
- Provide effective and prompt responses to all customer inquiries.
- Confer with Event Technicians to ensure that clients’ expectations are fulfilled, and review post-event status reports.
- Prepare, review and submit invoices after the event’s completion with accurate reconciled labor and cross-rental costs.
- Work with Managing Director of Accounts and General Manager to resolve any customer concerns or billing discrepancies.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned to ensure success of Markey’s events.
- Ability to document sales goals, event surveys, and revenue forecasts.
- Must have excellent customer service and verbal/written communication skills, politely and promptly responding to all internal and external requests.
- Computer proficiency and thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams and One Drive. Ability to learn R2 program.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
- Must possess excellent time management and multitasking skills by balancing workload between reviewing projects, attending meetings and conference calls, face-to-face customer interactions, on-site event support, billing and overall account management.
- Must possess a high level of detail in all work including account management, organizing event information, arranging and managing pre and post-production services.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as dictated by business needs.
