AVP, Actuary – Valuation Salary $170000 - $220000
Location Indianapolis, IN, USA Contract Permanent Industry Life Insurance---Contact Molly Nylund Molly.
Nylund An established reinsurance organization focused on asset-intensive products is seeking a Senior Actuary to join its actuarial team. Reporting to the Chief Actuary, this role will contribute to valuation, modeling, pricing, and financial analysis, while supporting broader initiatives such as capital planning, regulatory reporting, and actuarial governance. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strategic thinking and the ability to lead in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
* Lead quarterly valuation and annual assumption reviews
* Support financial reporting, planning, and regulatory filings
* Conduct experience studies for life/annuity products and policyholder behavior
* Review MG-ALFA cash-flow projections and statutory reserve changes
* Assist in actuarial controls, governance, and risk documentation
* Manage monthly reinsurance settlements
* Engage with external auditors and actuaries
* Contribute to additional projects as required
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field
* FSA (or equivalent) with ~7+ years post-fellowship experience
* Strong background in annuity reinsurance/asset modeling preferred
* Proficiency with MG-ALFA; programming/automation a plus
* Knowledge of US GAAP/Stat, tax, solvency frameworks
* Strong communication and multitasking skills
