The opportunityEY Private Tax is a growing practice focused on serving privately held companies, from family‑owned businesses to private equity owned companies. These high‑growth private companies span from startups to multi‑billion‑dollar global entities. With a diverse portfolio of challenging work, you will impact technically demanding tax planning and compliance projects and have opportunities to progress to senior manager.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Prepare or review federal and state tax returns for U.S. partnerships, including foreign reporting for cross‑border compliance (partnerships, corporations, disregarded entities, and affiliate reporting).
- Provide tax research, draft memoranda, and assist with quantitative modeling for private client tax advisory services.
- Identify and communicate significant tax matters to managers and senior managers.
- Build and maintain long‑term client relationships, understanding their unique needs to provide tailored service.
- Communicate complex tax issues to non‑tax professionals and clients.
- Maintain reputation in the field through continuous update and sharing of technical best practices.
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of tax professionals, reviewing work and ensuring they have the knowledge and tools to excel.
- Identify and mitigate risks and opportunities to improve services and processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with tax, business, or financial planning experience.
- CPA certification or membership in The Bar.
- Excellent collaboration, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional services or tax organization experience.
- Experience in a hybrid work environment and willingness to travel as needed.
- Commitment to continuous learning.
- Proficiency with tax software such as RIA, CCH Intelli Connect, One Source, BNA, or Lexis Nexis.
- Experience with Gift, Estate, and Trust tax planning and compliance is a plus.
- Experience managing, coaching, and mentoring junior colleagues.
- A genuine interest in providing outstanding services to high‑profile clients and a willingness to serve executives, entrepreneurs, investors, and families.
- Comprehensive compensation and benefits package, with base salary ranging from $106,500 to $195,100 (or higher for specific metro areas). Includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and paid time off.
