The Budget Analyst serves as the Indiana Department of Natural Resources' Capital and PM Analyst, responsible for conducting budget analysis, preparing annual and biennial budgets, and managing federal grants. The role involves analyzing fiscal trends, preparing financial reports, resolving budget errors in the Encompass system, and serving as a liaison between division staff and financial representatives on state and federal funding matters.
Keyqualifications
- 7+ years of accounting, auditing, financial analysis, or related experience
- Advanced knowledge of federal grants, governmental accounting, budgeting, and auditing principles
- Advanced computer skills in Excel, Access, Encompass, and Hyperion
- Ability to analyze fiscal trends, isolate variances, and project expenditures and revenues
- Broad knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
