The Government Affairs Analyst manages Medicaid and CHIP state plans, alternative benefit plans, and waiver amendment processes within the Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning at the Family and Social Services Administration. The role involves consulting with subject matter experts, creating policy briefs on federal guidance, completing public records requests, and monitoring legislative initiatives. This position may lead a team and requires extensive knowledge of federal and state healthcare programs and regulations.
Keyqualifications:
- Specialized knowledge in Medicaid/CHIP program subject matter obtained through experience and/or education
- Extensive knowledge of federal and state laws governing healthcare programs
- Ability to develop and implement new principles and policies and discern far-reaching implications
- Ability to present to internal and external customers, government officials, and stakeholders
- Ability to prepare monthly finance and accounting reports and manage program budgets
- At least 9+ years of experience applying outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role
