Interpreter​/Registration

Overview

Interpreter/Registration position at Health Net located at Downtown Health Center – 1801 North Senate Blvd., Suite 310, Indianapolis, IN 46202. The role supports non‑English speaking patients and families, ensuring ADA compliance and equal access.

• Translate English to Spanish for patients and families.
• Liaise between non‑English speaking communities and Health Net.
• Respond to language interpreting concerns for patients and families.
• Assist in collecting patient information.
• Provide support such as financial screening, answering telephones, making appointments, assisting in cashier area, and handling medical records.
• Provide cultural education to other employees.
• If certified as a Medical Assistant, perform additional patient care duties.
• Full‑time shift:
  Monday‑Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience translating Spanish in a medical setting required.
• Must be or be willing to obtain certification in translation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Appreciation and understanding of Hispanic/Latino communities.
• Customer service skills required.
• May be required to travel to other Health Net centers.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Able to perform duties during periods of varied and/or prolonged work hours.
• Able to read, write, hear, and communicate effectively in English.
• Physical requirements:
  
  ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, squat, stoop repeatedly; ability to lift 20–30 pounds.
