Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center, Indiana's first community mental health center, provides comprehensive care for emotional and behavioral problems, including severe mental illness and substance abuse. The Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center offers both inpatient and outpatient services, including several outreach centers as well as clinic- and community-based services.
FLSA Status Non-Exempt Job Role Summary The Clinician performs a variety of individual, family and group therapeutic interventions utilizing evidence-based practices. This position manages a caseload of clients identifying therapeutic, rehabilitative and case management needs, engaging other team members in meeting these needs as indicated.Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Embraces, understands, and operates under the Recovery Model, including AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) and the spirit of motivational interviewing (MI), and follows the levels of accountability
- Completes biopsychosocial evaluation (BPSE), integrating information gathered by the team and developing the integrated diagnostic summary; based upon the BPSE and in consultation with the treatment team, prepares Clinical Treatment plans, dates the treatment plan at intervals determined by guidelines, and consults with client, family, and treatment team throughout the process
- Manages a caseload of clients identifying therapeutic, rehabilitative and case management needs; engages other team members in meeting these needs as indicated
- Performs a variety of individual, family and group therapeutic interventions (as demonstrated competency allows) utilizing evidence-based practices
- Provides quality case management services as indicated by client need
- Monitors client progress and reflects this in the clinical documentation
- Evaluates and updates the treatment plan at intervals determined by guidelines, consulting with client family and team in this process
- Completes documentation of activities and written reports in an accurate and timely manner
- Identifies community resources and assists clients in their access to these resources
- Provides indirect service to external agencies and community through consultation and education
- Interprets and applies service and billing procedures according to client needs; completes billing according to guidelines for timeliness and accuracy
- Alters activities and behaviors to reflect and ensure adequate care which is appropriate to the age of the clients served
- Advocates for clients to ensure access to needed services which include developing community relationships and resources
- Meets agency standards of timely completion of all documentation
- Meets agency standards of client service hours
- Demonstrates commitment to professional growth by actively participating in clinical supervision
- Master's degree in Human Services field
- Candidates with a Master's of Social Work must have Licensed Social Work (LSW) and be working towards Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW)
- Candidates must have submitted a plan to obtain licensure at the soonest date possible within a maximum allowed of three years
- Valid Indiana driver's license that meets Eskenazi Health's driving policy requirements
- All individuals working for the Opioid Treatment Program must have one of the following FSSA/DMHA-approved credentials for Clinicians providing counseling with an OTP:
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT)
- Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
- Certified Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADAC) II
- Certified Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADAC) IV
- Indiana Certified Addiction Counselor (ICAC) I
- Indiana Certified Addiction Counselor (ICAC) II
- Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with Medication Assisted Treatment Specialist (MATS)
- Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCAC)
- Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC)
- Master Addiction Counselor (MAC)
- National Certified Addiction Counselor (NCAC) I
