Must perform according to the Suppression/Operations Division job analysis and maintain good physical condition to pass department medical examinations and all other department fitness requirements.

Firefighters are trained as paramedics, EMTs, extrication specialists, top water and rescue divers, confined space, trench rescue, and hazardous materials technicians to help save lives, protect property, and the environment.

Rotation ScheduleRotating 24‑hour shift activities divided between fire station and field operations.
Assigned Duties- Fire suppression activities including but not limited to driving emergency vehicles safely and conscientiously.
- Proficient operation of apparatus pumps with thorough understanding of hydraulics.
- Routine maintenance of assigned station, apparatus, tools, and equipment.
- Assist in assigned details such as company inspections, pre‑planning, public education, tours, etc.
- Adhere to all rules, regulations, General Orders, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Perform communication operations using radios, computers, and MDTs.
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief.
- State of Indiana First‑Class Firefighter Certification or NFPA Firefighter I/II.
- State of Indiana Emergency Medical Technician Certification.
- State of Indiana valid Operator's License.
All firefighters must acquire and maintain pertinent certifications for any special operations assignment.
